The New Mortal Kombat looks stunning.

I'm loving all of these new character designs. So sexy!

And the fatalities are absolutely brutal. Seriously. Go look them up on YouTube and you'll see what I mean.

If you haven't seen it yet, the character selection screen for the new game has been leaked. I love it when things get leaked ;D (Well, not that fake ending to Heart of the Swarm that was leaked a few months ago. That was awful.)

The order of characters, from left to right (taken from Kotaku):
Scorpion - Liu Kang - Kung Lao - Sub-Zero
Sindel - Ermac - Reptile - Kitana
Johnny Cage - Jade - Mileena - Nightwolf
Cyrax - Noob Saibot - Smoke - Sektor
Sonya - Jax - Kano - Stryker
Shang Tsung - Baraka - Kabal - Raiden
Extras/DLC - Sheeva - Quan Chi - Extras/DLC

PS3 is lucky and they get Kratos as a playable character. Pretty freaking sweet.

I'm not much of a fan of fighting games (I still have yet to play MvC3), however, this game looks...incredible. It really does. Can't wait for it's release! I love how this Mortal Kombat has 3D graphics meanwhile it is sticking with the 2D playing field. It's really going to be awesome.

Duke Nukem Forever Delayed. Again.

I feel like I'm just getting trolled hardcore by Gearbox.
Duke Nukem Forever is being delayed. Again.
Instead of May 4th, it will be released on June 14th.
Awesome.

My dreams of the Duke that I always blog about are slowly being crushed.

More Recent Updates, Gaming Preorders, Etc.

FINALLY picked up Alan Wake. Unfortunately, I've yet to play it because for some reason my internet won't connect to xbox live. However, I've really been looking forward to playing this game. It looks like it's going to be really good.

ALSO, I preordered Gears of War 3, at last! I got my beta code and everything. I really can't wait for the beta next month. Gears 3 simply cannot come any sooner.

And while I am on the subject of preorders -- it's getting closer and closer to May (edit: OH WAIT, it got delayed AGAIN to JUNE. Who didn't freaking see that coming!), which is the release month of Duke Nukem Forever. I would like to make my preorder for it soon (I will be getting it on the PC, which the original Duke game was on and was intended for). But I don't know if I want to get a regular copy, or the Balls of Steel edition.
Seriously, though. Look at all of the cool stuff it comes with! Duke dice, poker chips, A BUST OF DUKE? This has got to be the coolest special edition that any game could ever have. I can get this all for $90. I haven't decided if I want to do it or not, but all I can say is that this Balls of Steel edition of the game is incredibly bad ass.

And, finally, I'd like to show off share with you all my laptop that I recently redecorated.
The Black Ops sticker is actually intended for a car. You know those very attractive-looking Black Ops jeeps? You can actually order stickers to put on your car. My dad ordered them through Jeep (I think). Nonetheless, it looks really awesome on my laptop.

And that's about it for the updates in my life.... besides Rift, of course.

“Nukem 'til they glow, then shoot 'em in the dark.”

(this quote really has nothing to do with anything, but it's still an awesome quote.)

RIFT Cleric EndGame Builds

As I'm leveling my cleric in Rift, I'd like to post my overall goals for my endgame builds. I did a lot of research and put a lot of thought into what exactly I want my soul trees to look like. And this is what I've decided on.
I have three definite builds that I'm working on: a PvP healing build, a caster DPS build, and a tanking build.
There are so many different ways to customize your soul trees and such, and it's really all about preference. But here I will show you my personal preference; these are the builds that I will be using when my cleric hits level 50. But honestly, these are pretty common endgame builds for clerics who hit 50. I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary here.

PvP Healing Build: Sentinel, Purifier and Templar.
This build is very good for PvP heals. Especially Templar, which I've yet to unlock. It's going to be so awesome for PvP.
Soul Tree: Healing Role  ← Click the link to see the build.

Caster DPS Build: Cabalist, Inquisitor, and Templar.
Cabalist will be the main focus of this build, because it has the best AoE. Inquisitor will back it up because it also will help with DoTs. These two souls are really the only two that are good for caster DPS builds. And clerics who use melee for DPS in PvP, in my opinion, are pretty useless. I started out using melee DPS and it absolutely sucked in PvP.
Soul Tree: DPS Role

Tanking Build: Justicar, Shaman, and Druid.
Obviously these are pretty much the best three cleric souls for tanking. Here's what I'd like my soul tree to look like:
Soul Tree: Tanking Role

My fourth role will probably be some sort of combination of a PvE healing build. But I haven't quite decided on it yet. ;)
My current main is a mere level 32. I haven't been playing as much as I should have in the past few weeks. However, I plan on playing a lot more from here on. So here goes the big stretch to hit 50, haha! When I get between 35-40, I would like to post my leveling build just to show off how cool my leveling soul tree is! Actually, it's really not that cool. ;( Haha.
Anyway, blogging about Rift is fun. I'm really enjoying this game a lot. ♥

Bulletstorm!

I had the opportunity to experience the amazing campaign of Bullestorm this weekend. It was a very, very entertaining FPS. I would describe it as Gears of War in first person shooter form with ten times more creative ways to kill enemies. AND it includes more creative weapons than the lancer in Gears, as well. It also has extremely funny dialogue. Bulletstorm even has characters who have individual personalities, along with an antagonist who is a complete  jerk off that you will end up hating by the end of the campaign.

That, right there, is my brief synopsis of Bulletstorm. Like I said, it is obviously very similar to Gears of War in regard to graphics, the fact that the main characters look jacked up on steroids, and the enemies even look and sound like the locust from Gears. But that is not a bad thing because Gears of War is AWESOME. (I seriously cannot wait for Gears 3 to come out in November. And the beta next month cannot come any sooner, either. Gears has been one of my favorite games for a while now, ugh I'm just sooo excited and I obviously cannot contain my excitement!)

The reason why Bulletstorm is not like any other FPS is because of the creativity in every kill you make. You can have so much fun with it, too. Whether it involves kicking your enemy into a giant electrical socket or impaling them with a drill, the dozens of skillshots that Bulletstorm incorporates in the game is amazing. The weapons also make wiping out your enemies even more fun. From the flail gun, to the penetrator, and the leash... all of these weapons make the game's style and gameplay so unique. It is so hard for me to explain how incredibly unique the game is -- you all will just have to play the game for yourselves.
Like I read in an article a few weeks ago about Bulletstorm, "Creativity is your most powerful weapon". That is so true. Fun, fun, fun. This game is so fun.

These videos will give you a little glimpse of some of the dialogue in the game. The videos contain some language, so they are probably NSFW. But they are still really funny.

Rift. The Only Real Current Update On My Life.

I've been neglecting my blog! I usually try to update my blog more frequently than I have been lately. I've been quite busy in these past couple of weeks mainly with school and gaming. And by gaming, I mean Rift. Because that is really the only game I've been playing. But thankfully it is SPRING BREAK for me! Aww yeah. Hopefully this will give me more time to catch up on some other games.

So here's the deal.
A few weeks ago, I quit WoW and decided I was going to play Rift. At first, I asked myself why exactly I was doing this. I only started playing WoW again a few months ago (I'm pretty sure I also recently made a post about getting my free authenticator from Blizz and being quite excited about that, as well) and I was really enjoying playing WoW. But with the way I am, I don't enjoy an MMO unless I'm playing with others. The majority of my friends quit WoW for the semester, and my boyfriend also decided that he was going to quit WoW and play Rift. Also, a few of his friends were going to play Rift, and they were going to start up a guild. All in all, I made this decision based on the fact that for the most part, I was going to be all alone in WoW, and I really didn't want that. So I went into Rift with a somewhat bitter feeling, and I wasn't expecting it to be all that great. I mean, pretty much every MMO always gets crushed by the almighty World of Warcraft.

Now that I introduced my story, allow me to continue. I pre-ordered Rift and did the head start a few weeks ago. My reaction? I was completely surprised. I wasn't expecting Rift to be this...good. As many have already said, Rift has a lot of the same mechanics as WoW, except Rift has some things that are quite different that I like a lot better. I am absolutely in love with the customization of the souls. There is SO much you can do with just one character -- it's incredible.

So let me show you my toon!

Reila. Defiant. Cleric. Server: Reclaimer.

HECK YEAH -- I'm a cleric. And it's awesome. I love it. Right now, I have a healing role (my first time doing heals on an MMO! Totally loving it!), a DPS role, and I'm working on my tanking role. So I can pretty much do whatever the HECK I want and it's awesome.
Right now, I'm lvl 31. Which really isn't much. My boyfriend is almost at the level cap, which is 50. He plays a lot more than me, though. Before Spring Break started, I really only had time to play on the weekends because I was so busy with school during the week. Oh, and I have an amazing group of guildies. JUST SAYIN'.

So, yes. I am thoroughly enjoying Rift. And if anyone was hesitant about playing it, I say just go for it. highly doubt you'll be disappointed. In my opinion, it is a lot more challenging than World of Warcraft, which is a good thing.
You will find everyone in-game comparing Rift to WoW. The majority of people who play Rift are WoW converts, so you will always hear people talking about WoW. Honestly? It gets kind of annoying after a while. I just want to say, "shut up, fools. This is Rift, stop talking about WoW. And stop comparing the two like it is cool. If you keep talking about WoW, then go back to it. Your crying is annoying." I'm sure many others who play Rift can agree with me on this one.

I will probably be making frequent posts about my random adventures in Rift. This post was a little bit boring, I apologize. I will make Rift seem more interesting very soon. Maybe some of you readers will even be convinced to play Rift if you aren't playing already! ;)
